Ronald and Caren Benny were married on May 16, 1965 in Auburn, WA. They have resided in Selah for 40 years. Ron Retired from the WA Army National Guard after 34 years of dedicated service. Caren was a stay-at-home Mom to their four children for many years, then worked for the Selah School District. She then retired as a medical secretary, and worked for the City of Yakima Senior Center.
Ron and Caren celebrated their 50th Anniversary in January with a trip to Maui, HI with their three eldest children and spouses. They celebrated with all their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with dinner at the Sea Galley Restaurant and a party at their home. They later had a celebration at the Black Angus Restaurant with their siblings and spouses on their anniversary date.
The couple have four children: Maureen (Burl) Todd of Renton, WA, Alan Benny of Moxee, WA, Sheila (Matt) Kramer of Kennewick, WA and Rhonda (Robert) Goetz of Mukilteo, WA.They have six grandchildren: JoAnn (Jacob) Waller, Bothell, WA, Teresa (Marcus) Bailie of Kirkland, WA, Kevin (April) Kramer of Pasco, WA, Lisa (Craig) Chiesa of Pasco, WA, Paige and Hannah Goetz of Mukilteo, WA. They have seven great-grandchildren: Landen and Logan Waller, Makenna and Calvin Bailie, Colson and Creid Chiesa, and Oliver Kramer.

Bill and Barbara (Duley) Richards of Selah, Washington, were married on May 10, 1969 at Crook’s Memorial United Methodist Church in Yorktown, Virginia. Bill retired from U.S. Navy as ETCS (SS) in 1977. During that time, he served in VP-1 out of Whidbey Island, on the USS Charles Adams, on two submarines: the USS Woodrow Wilson (7 1/2 years) and the USS Tecumseh. They have been living in the Yakima area since 1978.
In 2007 Bill retired from Perry Technical Institute, where he taught Instrumentation I for 22 years. Barbara was a Sign Language Interpreter for both Toppenish School District and Yakima School District until she retired in 2008. They are both members of the Woodrow Wilson Association, and Bill is a member of the Yakima Submarine Veterans Association.
They have two children, Charlie Richards and Christina (Richards) Swindler, and two grandchildren, Zadie and Kevin Swindler, all of Yakima. Bill and Barbara will be taking an anniversary trip in the near future.

Max and Beverly (Hill) Gabbard celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Oahu, Hawaii. Max and Bev were married May 10, 1954 in Yakima, Washington. They own Max Gabbard Construction. They have four sons, Randy (Sue), Ray (Dorothy), Ryan (Shiela), Reid (Laura) and one daughter, Renell (Pat). They also have nine grandchildren, and about a gazillion great grandchildren.Thank you Dad and Mom for all you’ve done and for all you do. Two people could not be loved more than the two of you.

John & Ruth (Yocham) Wilkinson of Yakima, WA, were married on June 4th, 1944 in Peel, Arkansas. They moved to the Cowiche/Tieton area in 1948. John retired from Strand Orchards in 1991, but couldn’t stay away and returned to help for a few more years. Ruth worked for Strand Apples for many years before staying at home to be a housewife and help farm their family orchard.
They have three children, Wayne Wilkinson, Sue (Wilkinson) McCorkindale, Joan (Wilkinson) Amos, all of Yakima. They have eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Thank you Mom & Dad for being an honorable example of marriage for us and many others to follow. We love, respect, and cherish the values of hard work, honesty, and generosity you’ve taught us that it takes to build a strong marriage and family.

Al & Judy Martinsen will celebrate 50 years of God’s blessings on their marriage with an Open House in the courtyard of their home, 101 No. 58th Ave. in Yakima. Friends are invited to join them on Saturday, June 7th from 1 to 4 PM. Come casual, no gifts, no program. The Martinsens have lived in the Ellensburg and Yakima areas since 1981, where they owned and operated ServiceMaster Clean franchises until their retirement in 2010. Al & Judy have two children, Jim, who went to Heaven in 2005 and Tami (Jon) Miller and 4 grandchildren, Allison, Erik, Braeden, and Carson Miller, all of Whitefish, MT. The couple plans an anniversary trip to Kenya in September.

Carrie Clark, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Christopher and Patty Clark of West Valley, was married to Patrick Buffinton, son of Christopher and Barb Buffington of Montrose, PA, on September 14, 2013 at Fontaine Estates Winery.
Emily Clark, sister of the bride, served as Maid of Honor and Chris Buffington, father of the groom, served as Best Man.
The bride is a graduate of West Valley High School, and graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a Business degree. Carrie is currently pursuing her Registered Nurse license at Shoreline Community College.
The groom graduated from Renseelaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, where he studied Materials Engineering and earned his Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Central Florida. He has worked as a Materials Engineer at Boeing in Seattle for ten years, currently in the landing gear group.

Ralph J. and Judy Stevenson Kauzlarich were married on June 13, 1964 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, in Yakima, WA. Following their honeymoon, they moved to Astoria, Oregon where they started their adventure with Pacific Power and Light Co. Joe was hired as an electrical engineer and Judy taught 5th grade for the Astoria School District. From there they had the privilege of living and working in several communities in Pacific Power Land. They were transferred to Yakima, Portland, OR., Walla Walla, WA., Coos Bay, OR., Libby, MT., Grants Pass, OR. and back to Yakima.
In 1998, Joe retired as the Area Manager after 36 years of dedicated service. Judy was mostly a stay-at-home Mom raising their four children. She worked as a substitute teacher in several locations and taught religious education as well as English as a Second Language. They have made a mini-farm east of Moxee, their permanent home. Joe and Judy will celebrate their 50th anniversary with their wedding party at a Mass where they will renew their vows, followed by a special dinner. They will also spend several relaxing days at Sun River hosted by the Daywitt Family.
The couple has four children: Col. Ralph (Stephanie) Kauzlarich of San Antonio, Texas; Frank (Kelli) Kauzlarich of Kalispell, Montana; Suzanne (Evan) Daywitt of Grants Pass, OR.; and Wayne (Danielle) Kauzlarich of Central Point, OR. They have ten grandchildren: Brittney Kauzlarich of Missoula, Montana; Corey Kauzlarich US Army, Special Ops, Fort Campbell, KY.; Alexandria, Jacob, and Garret Kauzlarich of San Antonio, Texas; Kye, Josie, and Chloe Daywitt of Grants Pass, OR.; Kenzie and Kelton Kauzlarich of Central Point, OR.

Through the grace of God, Don & Marilyn Immel joyfully celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at a reception hosted by their three children, Victor Immel, Faye Fulton, and Kimberly Cooper on May 17th. They were married on May 30th, 1964 in Sunnyside WA, and have lived and worked the past 50 years in Yakima. They have been blessed with ten grandchildren who, all but one, live in Yakima. A trip to Alaska is planned for later this summer.

Kathryn and Richard Craig of Wapato will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a family dinner hosted by their children and grandchildren today at their home. Richard Craig and Kathryn Fiander were married June 8, 1974, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in White Swan. They are lifelong area residents. Mrs. Craig is an administrative officer at the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Toppenish. She has worked 39 years for the BIA. Mr. Craig is retired. The couple has four sons and one daughter; Gabriel and Cheryl of Yakima; Anthony and Chelsea of Tulalip; Ryan and Noelle of Wapato; Kateri of Wapato and Shawn of Wapato. The family includes 12 grandchildren.

George Hawes and Sherry Tjarnberg were married on June 7, 1969. They both live in Harrah, Washington. George and Sherry are both retired. George worked for Tiin-Ma Logging and Powell Construction. He also enjoys golfing and yard work. Sherry worked for the Mt. Adams School District. She enjoys cooking and baking. They have two children, Carrie Blythe (Scott) and Marcy Sanchez (Rudy). They also have four grandchildren, Drew Blythe, Ellie Blythe, Gabby Sanchez and Noah Sanchez. Both enjoy spending time with the family and traveling.The family is celebrating their anniversary with a trip to Maui this summer. Thank you Mom and Dad for all you do, we love you!
