Bobbi and Louie are celebrating their 60th Anniversary. They were married in Coeur d’Alene, ID on May 3 1954. They have three children; Cindy Jackson(Chris) Sodeman, Gregg (Jan) Hauser and Laurie Krause, twelve grandchildren; Brandy (Rudy Sr.) Criner from San Antonio, TX. Eddie (Nadia) Lopez from Houston, TX. Abby (Shane) Gargett, Greg Gargett (Melissa) from Yakima, WA. Adam (Samantha) Hauser from Cape Carteret NC in the USMC. Jamie Hauser (Dan) from Zillah, WA. Joey (Erin) Hauser from Cordenons, Italy in the USAF.
They also have 12 great grandchildren; Luna, Lilu and Eliza Lopez, Rudy Jr. and Lily Criner, Addy Gargett, Ava, Benjamin, Michael, Nauteeca, Paige Hauser and Greg Hauser III.

Aaron is the son of Denis and Jeanette Olson of White Swan. Tracy is a graduate of CWU and is employed as a Credit Representative for Star Rentals, Inc., in Yakima. Aaron is a graduate of CWU and is a Dairy Farmer in the Yakima Valley. A July 26th wedding at the Central Washington Agricultural Museum is planned.

On a beautiful Saturday, September 14, 2013, in Seattle, Stephanie Frances Berger and Shaun Joseph Grubert exchanged vows and joined their lives. Family and friends celebrated with them at St. Patrick’s Church and then at a dinner reception on the MV Skansonia on Lake Union.
Parents of the couple are Rick and Molly Berger of Yakima and Bill and Mary Grubert of Blackwood, New Jersey. Maid of honor was Teresa Wells, sister-in-law of the bride. Best men were Bryan Grubert, brother of the groom, and Joseph Nestor. Other attendants were Morgan Henderson, Michelle Goodwine, Valerie Larson, Elly Coulter, Heather Detering, Janelle Dougherty, Denise Grubert, sister of the groom, Daniel Eckman, Dave Thomas, Porter Loring, Nicholas Berger, brother of the bride, Troy Youhas, Sean Henderson. Belle Grubert, niece of the groom, was flower girl, and Simon Berger, nephew of the bride, and Brock Grubert, nephew of the groom, were ring bearers. Fr. John Madigan presided.
The bride-to-be earned her Bachelor of Arts at Seattle University and is an assistant buyer at Nordstrom. The groom earned his Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Business Administration at Vanderbilt University and is a project manager at Premera Blue Cross.After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple is at home in Seattle.

Harvey and Vinda (Sedge) Hoke of Naches will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary on April 21, 2014. The two were married atop Mount Tantalus on Oahu, HI in 1979.
Harv grew up in Honolulu, HI. Known as ‘The Flyin’ Hawaiian,’ he has been a driver with UPS for 33 years. Vinda grew up in Naches, WA. She is a talented hairdresser and has owned and operated her own hair salon in Naches since 1990. They have three daughters; Jocelyn (Gregg) Tate of Yakima, Kaili Hoke of Naches, and Savannah Hoke of Yakima. They have two granddaughters, Presley and Parker Tate.
Their marriage has been an inspiration to those around them and it’s set a wonderful example for their girls to aspire to. Their home has always been full of quality family time and lots of laughter. They enjoy spending time with family and working on projects around their house.
They will celebrate their anniversary with a trip to Hawaii in July.

Walter L. (Barney) and Pauline Erickson Barnhart celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 26.
Barney and Pauline were married on March 26, 1949, at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church in North Seattle. They raised two sons, David and Bryan, and are blessed with two grandchildren, Cory and Nicole, and two great-grandchildren, Odin and Rhiannon.
Barney enjoyed a long and varied career as a buyer/coordinator on the Hanford Project and at the Boeing Company before going into teaching. He retired from Mount Adams School District. Pauline began her career as a keypunch opera-tor for the General Electric Company in 1948 and retired many years later as a business education teacher for the Yakima School District.
They retired to a log home Barney had built in Chinook Pass and have lived their last twenty years since retiring, been traveling between their home on Chinook Pass and a home in Yuma, Arizona. Both agree it has been a long and happy life.

Ryder Lee Otto, along with his Mommy, Devan Marie, and his Auntie, Shelby Lee, announces the engagement of his “Ga-ma,” Shawn Marie Ramsay, to his “Papa Deano,” Dean Wallace Law.
Shawn is the daughter of Judy Estep and sister of Tom and Tawnya Bothwell and the late Wayne Pettit. She is the Dental Implant Coordinator for SunRidge Oral Surgery. Dean is the son of James Law, the late Linda Law, and brother of Dale and Brenda Hawkesworth. He is a Facilities Engineer for Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
The couple will be married on May 30th with a reception date to be announced at a later time.

Ivan and Sharon Neumeyer are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 1st, 1964 in Selah, WA. They have both been life-long residents of the Yakima Valley and both had successful careers there. They have recently been enjoying a happy retirement together.They have two grown daughters who were also born and raised in Yakima: Jana (Shane) Wells of Moor-park, California (Hunter, Rogan and Abbie); and Cindy (Gene) Hedden of Harrah, Washington (Dash, Huck and Finn). They treasure their six grandkids and enjoy spending time with family. Happy 50th Anniversary to both of you! You are a true inspiration. We love you!!

Tom and Cheri will celebrate their 30th anniversary on April 29, 2014. They were married at Englewood Christian Church, where Tom is a member. They still enjoy visiting on special Sunday services.
They both graduated from Eisenhower High School. Tom graduated in 1978. Cheri graduated in 1982 from Eisenhower as well as from Mr. Lee’s Beauty school. Tom worked for his dad, Durry Hartoon, in construction till 1998, building two homes for themselves.
Tom and Cheri still reside in the second house built from 1993 to present. It was built with Cheri in mind; a private beauty salon is attached and still in service. In 1998 the couple started a new business, First Priority Vending, also still in business.
In 2003 they became a foster (adopt) home for three wonderful children: Summer, 10; Weston, seven; and Dean, four. They’ve owned rental proper-ties for 25 years. Landlords! Just another hat to wear.
Real estate is their hobby, hammer and paint. They continue to advocate for their elders and children teaching them of God’s love and to always have respect for others. Cheri and the children attend W.V. Foursquare Church. God unites you as two become ONE! We pray for 30 more years of joy.

Alfred O. Guthridge and Margery E. Richards were married on May 1st, 1964 in Yakima, WA. They met when Margery was a caregiver for his five young children. You’d never meet a couple more agreeable – they’ve gone 50 years without a fight. Alfred retired as an automotive painter and Margery worked at Del Monte for 25 years.Together they raised Alfred’s five children: Kathleen Victoria, Keith Victor, Colleen Denise, Kelly Owen and Carolyn Louise.To celebrate their anniversary they are taking a trip to Rimrock Lake.

Steve deGrood and Cathie Kuma were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Riverside, CA on May 4, 1974. They have lived in the Yakima and Selah area for 39 years.
Mr. deGrood retired from the Department of Fish and Wildlife in 2005 after 31 years. He then worked seasonally for the Department of Agriculture-Seed program for the past eight years. Mrs. deGrood was in the banking industry for over 22 years, before retiring after eight years with Bruce Sears State Farm Insurance in Selah in 2012.
They now enjoy their time on the farm in Selah. They are planning a trip to Hawaii in the fall. They have one son, Corey, who resides in Selah.

On May 8, 1954 Jack Rought and Helen E. McWain were married in the Seattle Salvation Army.
Jack was in the Air Force so there was a lot of moving for the family from state to state, and he was also stationed overseas throughout his time of service. Helen was a stay-at-home mom. Jack retired from the Air Force after serving 23 and 1/2 years, and they moved to Yakima in 1976 to help take care of Helen’s mother. He went to work at the Yakima Firing Center as a telephone operator where, after 16 years, he retired once again.
Jack and Helen have two children: a son Ronald L. Rought, his wife Rhonda and granddaughter Kinsten Rought of East Troy, Wisconsin; and a daughter Winifred M. Rought of Yakima. The Lord has truly blessed them throughout the years with great friends along the way.
They also have two more daughters, Bonnie and Kathy. A private dinner will be provided at their home.

On May 10, 2014 Geoff and Dorinda Peralta Baker will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. The celebrations began in late April on a nostalgic trip back to the Bay Area where they were married in 1964. Geoff proposed to Dori at a stop light at the corner of Potrero and 18th Street in San Francisco. Dinner at the Cliff House and a walk along the Santa Cruz Pier and Boardwalk commemorated this special moment. A 50th Anniversary Dinner is planned in Washington, DC in June followed by a September trip to France.
Geoff is a retired Air Force Colonel, and the Bakers moved to Yakima Valley from Hawaii in 1994. He also retired as Executive Director for Yakima’s Consumer Credit Counseling. Dori retired as Marketing Director of MPA Media, based in Huntington Beach, CA. The company specializes in Naturopathic Medicine. Geoff now serves on the Board for Generating Hope, Wags to Riches, Aspen Village and the Dispute Resolution Center. He is also a volunteer at North Star Oncology. Dori is currently the Treasurer and Scholarship Chair for the Mabuhay Foundation and is chair for the Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of Yakima County. She is also active in the Filipino American Community Youth and Senior Programs.
The Bakers are active community service volunteers and are members of Wesley United Methodist Church. Geoff and Dori have two grown daughters: Laura is Graphic Design Director for Education Week in Bethesda, MD, and Jonna is a Disney Channel Media Planner for Disney, Inc. in Burbank, CA.

Bill and Barbara (Duley) Richards of Selah, Washington, were married on May 10, 1969 at Crook’s Memorial United Methodist Church in Yorktown, Washington.
Bill retired from U.S. Navy as ETCS (SS) in 1977. During that time, he served in VP-1 out of Whidbey Island, on the USS Charles Adams, on two submarines: the USS Woodrow Wilson (7 1/2 years) and the USS Tecumseh. They have been living in the Yakima area since 1978.
In 2007 Bill retired from Perry Technical Institute, where he taught Instrumentation I for 22 years. Barbara was a Sign Language Interpreter for both Toppenish School District and Yakima School District until she retired in 2008. They are both members of the Woodrow Wilson Association and Bill is a member of the Yakima Submarine Veterans Association.
They have two children, Charlie Richards and Christina (Richards) Swindler of Yakima, and two grandchildren, Zadie and Kevin Swindler, all of Yakima. Bill and Barbara will be taking an anniversary trip in the near future.

On May 13, 2013, Pete and Lonni Jahr of Selah celebrated 35 years of marriage in front of their loved ones. As the sun was rising for a new day, they again said their wedding vows and affirmed their love for each other before God.
They were blessed to have their children and grandchildren present. They are Sunni and Forrest Tapscott, Summer and Jason Clark, along with grandchildren Tanner, Makenze, Makala and McKara Clark and Dale and Autumn Tapscott.
We want to thank all our loved ones for being with us and participating in this very special moment in our lives. We have been blessed!
Pete and Lonni have owned and operated Jahr’s European Sausage in Selah for the past 16 years. When they are not working or spending time with their loved ones they love to travel in the mountains and to the Oregon and California coasts.
