Grauerholz – 50 Years
Ellensburg residents Neil and Kathy Grauerholz met on a blind date in Boulder, Colo. and were married on April 7, 1964 after eloping to Las Vegas. Neil was an engineer for a public utility in Denver for over thirty years; Kathy worked as an artist and for the State of Colorado before her retirement. The couple raised their daughters, Lisa (Leitz) and Shelly (Jelmberg) in Littleton Colo., and the family spent many happy hours on adventurous driving trips throughout the U.S. The couple moved to Ellensburg in 1998 to be closer to their daughters and six treasured grandchildren: Walter, Neil, and Franklin Leitz; March, Jack, and Ava Jelmberg. Neil and Kathy’s love for each other and their honesty, integrity, and generosity continue to be an inspiration for everyone who knows them. The family will celebrate this spring in Yakima.
