Trout-60 Years
Oliver and Loeta Trout celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with two family dinners, one in Seattle and one in Yakima. They were married January 16, 1954 at the First Presbyterian Church’s Garden Chapel in Yakima, Washington. They resided in Selah until their move to Yakima in 2006.
In 1953, Oliver was a bookkeeper in Selah at Nordbergl’s Fruit Company and met Loeta, who worked at the Selah State Bank, while doing business at the bank. Oliver continued to work as a bookkeeper until his retirement from Yakima Valley Nursery. Even though Loeta had several part time jobs throughout her married life, she considered herself, most importantly, a homemaker.
They thoroughly enjoyed raising their two children, Donna (Joe) Kelly, of Yakima, and Ron Trout, of Seattle. They also enjoyed playing with their three grandchildren, Ryan (Rhonda), Kari (Will), and Kevin (Gretchen). Their three great-grandchildren live in Adams, TN.
